I went ahead and released this Widget as is. I was hoping to get a sponsor for it’s release but it looks like it will just be another free plugin that I work on in my “spare” time.
You can download the plugin from the WordPress Repository here:
If you like this widget, want to support the Hawaiian Language Revitalization movement, or want me to make improvements to this plugin, send me a donation and tell me what you want to me to do with it.
I started on this Plugin with ʻŌlelo Online in mind. But anyone with a current version of WordPress can install this Plugin and add the Widget to their sidebar so that visitors can translate Hawaiian right on their site. It works by parsing the dynamic content returned by the online Hawaiian dictionaries at wehewehe.org and displaying the results right on your page. Everyone with a website site that has anything to do with Hawaii should be interested in this Plugin. Although it is still under construction at the moment, you can try it out here at the bottom of any page of my blog and/or on the sidebar. As always your feedback and suggestions are welcome and appreciated.
